Regarding cinematic technique, Wan still demonstrates masterful ability in constructing the Atlantean underwater world, with stunning visual effects and impressive production design. However, the repetition in action style can become monotonous, despite some fantastic adventurous segments. The film lacks the groundbreaking freshness of its predecessor.

In terms of acting, Jason Momoa continues to be the soul of Arthur Curry, bringing his characteristic charm and playful energy. The fraternal relationship between Arthur and Patrick Wilson's Orm is a highlight, creating a credible on-screen chemistry and a rare emotional depth for a superhero film. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta delivers a villain with clear motivations, though his character development isn't truly groundbreaking. Amber Heard's role is significantly reduced, making Mera a faint presence. Nicole Kidman and Temuera Morrison remain reliable in supporting roles.

Themes of environmental protection and the importance of family are integrated, but sometimes feel superficial. The film attempts to address legacy and responsibility but is distracted by too many elements.
